porridge with spinash chinese mushroom & tofu -for my twins toddler
this is surely a mix of all kind of vegetables, potatoes, carrots, onion, chinese mushroom, spinach mince pork.

3 cheese macaroni cheese for my 16months old toddler- baby food recipe
My version of Macaroni cheese is pretty fattening, but is ok they do not have to worry about on diet like us so let them enjoy it :)
They didn't' really like only cheddar cheese version of macaroni cheese, so I create this 3 cheese macaroni cheese for them and they eat it :)
Ingredient:
1. 2 glove of garlic-mince
2. milk or heavy cream
3. mozzarella cheese
4. Parmesan cheese
5. Cheddar cheese
6. 2 tablespoon of butter
7. sprinkle of white pepper
8. 2 fresh mushroom (cut it small)
Direction:
1. melt the butter in a sauce pan with low heat, add in garlic and mushroom, saute it (do not burn the garlic)
2. after that, I prefer to take out all the mushroom left some garlic and most of the butter in the sauce pan, sprinkle some flour, until it thicken.
sprinkle some white pepper, make sure your heat is still on low so you won't over cook the cheese. add in the mushroom that you saute earlier.
Add in the cooked macaroni and mix all well
pour it on the baking pan
cover with foil paper, bake it at 350c for 30minutes
all done and ready to serve your precious one!

chicken with kale porridge-recipe for my 15months toddler
Kale is an excellent vegetable! so I usually have it on hand for babies. this is a simple recipe. frozen kale, couple chicken bones, whole chicken drumstick, couple carrot.
1. saute the mince garlic, ginger with olive oil
2. throw in chicken bones, chicken drumstick add some water to cook the chicken stock.
3. add in carrots.
4. slow heat cook it for maybe 2 hours plus. take the drumstick out let it cold.
5. add in rice and cook it in the stock.add in frozen kale, cook for couple minutes. sprinkle some salt.
6. let's the porridge cool little bit, shredded chicken . done!

Picky eater- homemade 15 months old toddler food-tofu with choy sam
I have 15months old boy and girl.I am not a big fan of all kind of convenience jar food in the market, so do my twins. that why since they were 6 months old, I started cooking all kind of baby food. Once a while if I tried to sneak in jar food, they will fuss and refuse to eat. It is really a lot of job, but is ok.
I won't blame them to not eating jar food :( I tasted all the jar food before I give it to them. it really do not taste good.
today I am running out of idea what to cook for them, so I check what do I have??? I have my pork rib that I made soup from last night, I have some chinese choy sam, I have tofu :)
so I create this recipe and wait and see if they were like it or not?
simple ingredients with simple steps
mince the garlic ,about 2 cloves of garlic, saute in olive oil, add in the shredded pork stir fried little bit until it get brown.meanwhile, cut the tofu in small pcs, and finely chop the choy sam
add all the ingredients together, add in some water,when the water is boiling, cut in some fresh chives. and add in one egg, mix it well. let it simmer until soup is slightly thicken.
sprinkle some sea salt and we are done!
here we go, it do not look good , but I like it and babies eat it with steam rice without fussing :)
trying to create healthy balance meal for babies do not means you need to spend a lot. but buying baby jar food and all kind of baby snacks can cost a lot of money. as long as keeping it simple and creative, you can create variety of nutritious healthy food for you little angles!

Tau Yu Bak (Braised Pork Belly in Soy Sauce) 豆油肉
妈妈跟我说过, 外婆有娘惹血统, 娘惹家里出来的女儿,都出名很会做菜。 这是真的哦! 从小到大,只要有外婆在的厨房, 就会有香喷喷的菜肴等着我们。 我很记得这道娘惹菜, 豆油肉, 最记得外婆会焖很久,直到汁变得浓稠,肉变得柔嫩, 鸡蛋染指黑色的豆油,油豆腐吸饱香甜的豆油肉汁,每咬一口, 都是满足的滋味。
很想吃这道菜, 但不懂怎么做,所以我参考了好几个 食谱,结果决定用自己的方式来做。
很多食谱都说要有黑酱油,冰糖, 我没有,所以用自己的食材来代替。 想努力用最自己的回忆做出最贴近外婆做出来的味道。
ingredients:
1. pork belly-要有肥和瘦肉, 焖出来才会好吃
2. 豆油
3. 黑豆油-我用 American browning sauce 来代替:P
4. 水 -请自己大概分量,很难去measure 的
5. hard boil eggs -看你自己要吃多少啦
6. garlic-大概5-6cloves
7. 一大颗冰糖- 我用普通糖来代替
8. 五香粉-chinese 5 spice powder(remember not to put too much)
9. 7-8 chinese Mushroom ( soak it in a hot water until it puffy, clean it and drain it,set aside)
10. panda brand oyster sauce
11. dried chilies
我的做法,很简单。
1. mince the garlic, saute it with pork belly, in the middle of it, add in some sugar, until it caramelized then add in soya sauce, dark browning sauce, continue with medium heat. add in mushroom, some water, oyster sauce,little bit of salt, dry chilies)
2. simmer it in low heat until it get thicker sauce. remember to add in the eggs for this process.
3.Taste and season the sauce (example – for sweeter, add rock sugar; for saltier, add more dark soy; not enough gravy, add more water etc).
4. I add in the bean curd (油豆腐)at last。
5. mine are thicker and little bit spicy version of this tao yu bak.
I am happy with the result, but was bit worry my 'white American' husband will not like it. surprisingly! he finish up my tau yu bak with 2 plate full of steam rice!!!
